White 765 No. 2

When purchasing the Necchi BU Supernova, the seller also had an old White 765 he wanted gone, so he offered it for free.

Seeing a neglected machine makes me cringe a little, especially such a nice White like this one.  A former owner had spray painted and faux-finished the rickety Singer table in which it sits.  They neglected to cover up the machine, resulting in black overspray which took hours to remove.  It looks a little better now but still needs a thorough cleaning.

The machine is a strong runner and with a 1.3 amp motor can really haul.  Its distinctive looks and minimal functionality (for a zig-zag) makes this a strong, basic machine.  It's my second 765 and in talking to the Necchi seller, I'm surprised it's in such good condition; he didn't really know anything about it and the table was being used as a TV stand, the machine being a heavy nuisance.
